Dr. Joseph Travis was one of two faculty members featured in the "Portraits" section of the summer 2002 issue of FSU's Research in Review. Biological Science triple alumnus R. Bruce Means (B.S.1968, M.S. 1972, Ph.D. 1975) was the subject of an article in the October issue of Florida State Times entitled "Ecologist's message: respect the snake--it can kill you or feed you." The October issue also included an article on research by Biological Science faculty member P. Bryant Chase entitled "Inconceivably small, but very important." The November issue of Florida State Times featured the role of Biological Science graduate student Matthew J. Aresco in lobbying for the Lake Jackson ecopassage, in an article entitled "Doctoral student crusades to save road-crossing turtles."
