Mian is
recently doing her graduate study in Dr. Hong-guo
Yu's lab at Biological Science Dept., Florida State
University. This is a yeast genetics lab using
Saccharomyces cerevisiae as a model system to
study chromosome maintenance during Meiosis. Mian's
research interests is to investigate the cohesin
complex's regulation in meiosis, specifically in
Scc3 subunit function.
Besides research, she uses most of her time and
money to travel all over the world. I guess she
learnt this hobby from her parents who spent all
their money on tickets. An other hobby of Mian
is to play math game. She is always ready to trade
her questions with others.
Mian
also is a big soccer fun. Her favorite player is
Roberto Baggio who is the hero in Italian soccer
history. Unfortunately Mian had no chance to visit
Italy when she was in Europe.
People
started to know Mian because of her new year cards
in 1990. At that time, her started her first
business - selling home-made new year cards. Most
expensive one cost 10 RMB which equals to 1.5
dollar.
