1962 in the FSU Biological Science History project

1962 In the Department of Biological Science at Florida State University (updated 31 August 2007)

In 1962, with matching funds secured from the National Institutes of Health and the state of Florida by the founders of the Institute of Molecular Biophysics, lead by Dr. Michael Kasha of Chemistry and Dr. Leland Shanor of Biological Science, construction began on the Molecular Biophysics Building (renamed the Kasha Laboratory Building in 2001).
