Symposium Sponsors

Sponsorship at its best is a two-way process from which both sponsor and recipient benefit. The generosity of our sponsors for the 2008 Symposium, "The Spatial Dimensions of Fisheries: Putting It All in Place," help us by providing funds to support the participation of deserving graduate students. The participation of all young investigators—graduate students, postdoctoral associates, and other recent Ph.D.s—is an integral part of what makes these symposia so successful. Sponsors also provide funds that allow us to reward young investigators for their excellent contributions to the symposium through the Young Investigators Awards for the Best Talk and Best Poster.

Other areas in which sponsors make their mark include defraying the costs of social events and publication of the proceedings.
