The Seventh William R. and Lenore Mote
International Symposium in Fisheries Ecology

A tribute to the legacy of Bob Johannes,
who sensitized us to the concept of marine tenure
11-13 November 2008
Sarasota, Florida

Thank you to everyone for making this symposium a wonderful success!

Contributed Papers

Contributed papers include talks and posters. A limited number of contributed papers and posters will be published in the proceedings. Papers not consistent with the theme of the symposium will be rejected. Papers must be submitted not later than 13 November 2008 for consideration. All submissions will be peer reviewed. Please follow the format instructions of Bulletin of Marine Science, available at http://www.rsmas.miami.edu/bms/instructions.html, with one exception: please submit your manuscript as an MS Word file rather than in PDF.

Contributed Talks

Each contributed speaker will be allotted 15 minutes: 12 minutes for the presentation and 3 minutes for questions.

Contributed Posters

Oral speed presentation: All poster authors are invited to give 3-minute oral "speed presentations" of their posters in the relevant oral session. Speed presentations can be accompanied by up to three PowerPoint slides and should succinctly state the research question, methods, results, and "take-home message" of each poster. We will adhere strictly to the time limits.

Poster size and display: Posters may be up to 36 inches tall and 48 inches wide. They will be displayed on sheets of foam-core poster board mounted on easels. Note that the foam-core poster boards, easels, pins, tape, and spray adhesive will be supplied at the symposium location. If your poster requires other means of mounting, please bring the necessary supplies with you.

Posters will be on display in a classroom near the talk venue throughout the symposium. They will be moved by symposium staff to the poster-session reception and for the banquet.
