Professor Lawrence G. Abele was elected a Fellow of the American Association for the Advancement of Science.
Professor David M. Quadagno (while still a member of the Department of Movement Science) received FSU's University Teaching Award and the Richard Winzler Award for excellence in teaching from FSU's Program in Medical Sciences.
Associate Professor George W. Bates received an FSU Developing Scholar Award.
Professor Ralph W. Yerger received the department's inaugural Loretta C. Ellias Teaching Award.
