RNASeq: Experimental Design and Analysis Workshop |
Category: |
Seminar |
Note: |
The workshop is designed to give biology researchers a hands-‐on introduction to the questions, technology, laboratory and basic pipeline procedures of transcriptomics, through lectures and exercises focused on non‐model systems, but applicable to organisms with reference genomes. One session will focus on participants' own projects; advance preparation of data is suggested for those who would like individual advice.
Primary instructor Kim Hughes (Professor, Department of Biological Science, FSU) has expertise spanning evolutionary ecology, genetics, and behavior, and considerable transcriptomics experience. Co‐instructor Kim Hoke (Associate Professor, Biology, Colorado State University) focuses on neuroscience and behavioral evolution.
This workshop, hosted by the Department of Biological Science and the Center for Genomics and Personalized Medicine, FSU, is part of an NSF-‐funded collaborative grant to the instructors and is free of charge to participants. To register, email kahughes@bio.fsu.edu
