Research Interests: I am interested in animal behavior with a focus on communication and sexual selection. My undergraduate research investigated the function of short-range song in the Dark-eyed Junco, as well as how habitat and experience affect Gray Catbird vocalizations. My dissertation research investigates the causes of variation in the performance of complex, acrobatic displays in the Lance-tailed Manakin (Chiroxiphia lanceolata), and the resulting fitness consequences of that variation.
